TRANSPARENT and with LOWER ALCOHOLIC PRESENCE:

The wine for a new segment of consumers.

A segment of wine consumers is shifting their preferences regarding this beverage.
According to the recent virtual conference, organized by ICBC Foundation together with the Embassy of Argentina in Denmark and the sustainable wines exporter group Now Argentina, about commercial trade between Denmark and Argentina, argentine wines are considered “too traditional”, by a significant numbers of drinkers, in danish and other international markets.
Adriano Vivas, Now Argentina CEO and spokesman, explained that the beverage is perceived as too classic, either speaking about alcohol levels and about labels on the bottles.

From that fact and through a further research, the new trends discovered for this product are:

Lower alcoholic presence

A portion of adult consumers wants to enjoy wine drinking avoiding the troubles that come from alcoholic intakes. There is an increasing number of people consuming higher quantities of wine, due to the lockdown and an enjoy-at-home movement, but they are intending to neutralize the consequences of that in their health or their diet.
Nowadays, buyers can find wines with less than 12% of ethylic level, with no threat to the organoleptic characteristics (color, taste, flavor and texture) of the beverage.
This is enabled by a management process of the points of ripeness of the vineyards and during the harvest, through natural methods, which allows to control alcoholic presence in beverages.

Labels

Typical wine labels, with bucolic drawings and golden or bordeau calligraphic handwriting typos are being replaced by minimalistic graphic elements, modern linear fonts, abstract forms and saturated colors. Today, it is also usual to see vertical headed texts.

The winery is another industry that has started to stand for Social Responsibility and a balance between humans and the environment. An increasing number of vineyards is certifying as:

Fair Trade: Ensuring a fair price for farmers and workers involved, mainly, in wine elaboration phases.

Organic: Wines made of grapes cultivated according to the rules of organic agriculture, avoiding chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

Biodynamic: Lands and harvests management using herbal preparations and synchronized with some natural cycles like moon phases.

Natural: It is about the winemaking phase, avoiding mechanical and artificial processes and prioritizing natural fermentation and human intervention as much as possible.
